Harlem MC A$AP Rocky grabs the talented indie singer Lana Del Rey for a highly anticipated collaboration. These two artists are so different but seem to blend their diverse songs seamlessly on this track. This is definitely one of the best indie/rap crossovers I’ve heard in a while, so check it out and download below. Enjoy..

Rap: May Day – Blue Scholars

Posted in Hip-Hop/Rap on June 21, 2012 by ludabeatsmusic

Today I’ve got a brand new track from the Seattle rapper/producer Blue Scholars. “May Day” is their latest track and it brings a bone-chilling sound rather than their usual chill and laid back songs. This song was created in response to some shootings that took place in Seattle, WA earlier this month. Check it out and download below. Enjoy..

Rap: Ozs & Lbs – Wiz Khalifa (ft. Chevy Woods & Berner)

Posted in Hip-Hop/Rap with tags on June 10, 2012 by ludabeatsmusic

Taylor Gang’s fearless leader, Wiz Khalifa took to his Twitter account earlier today to unleash his newest masterpiece featuring his T.G.O.D. compadres Chevy Woods and Berner. The title of this track should pretty much tell what its about, and as far as what project this will be featured on, I have no idea. I’m a fan of this one though, its always good to hear Wiz tackling some slower and more melodic beats. Enjoy..

Pretty Lights x Bun B @ Summer Fest 2012

Posted in Dubstep, Electro, Hip-Hop/Rap, Music with tags , , on June 4, 2012 by ludabeatsmusic

Last night at 9pm on the dot, the lights dropped and the bass started bumping for Pretty Lights‘ set at Free Press Summer Fest in Houston. The stage was packed, the crowd filled up the entire hillside all the way to the top, it was unlike any other Pretty Lights concert I had ever seen. Derek played some crowd favorites and set a good pace with all sorts of hip-hop influenced sounds until he finally unleashed the biggest surprise at all, a guest appearance from the original UGK member, Bun B. Bun B always reps Houston hard and every concert I go to it seems that he always makes a guest-showing for a track or two. In this particular instance, Pretty Lights was banging his popular tune Finally Moving and Bun B came running out and spit a dirty freestyle. It was truly unlike any other EDM performance I have ever witnessed. You can peep the entire video below, and look for the Trill OG @ 2:17, throw your H’s up and enjoy.

Song of the Week: No Curfew – Skizzy Mars

Posted in Hip-Hop/Rap, Song of the Week with tags , on June 4, 2012 by ludabeatsmusic

Song of the Week is back, and what better way is there to bring in a fresh week than with a little Skizzy Mars. Coming off a rapping-hiatus, Skizzy brings a fresh new sound in this one, going with a slower paced track than what we are used to hearing from in songs like Sirens and Profound. Despite the different approach he took on “No Curfew” I still love the song, seriously every track from this man is an instant addition to my iTunes library. Get familiar with the name Skizzy Mars, because he is going to be here for a while. Take a look at the album artwork above, and listen + download below as always.

Rap: Happy Days – 1982 (ft. Mac Miller, Bun B & Shawn Stockman)

Posted in Hip-Hop/Rap with tags on May 19, 2012 by ludabeatsmusic

Just days before their sophomore project 2012 hits the streets,  Statik Selektah and Termanology, the producer combo recognized as 1982, dropped “Happy Days,” a chilled-out track about struggling through hard times to make it to life’s lighter side. This song is host to a unique blend of MCs including Pittsburg all-star Mac Miller and the Trill-OG himself, Bun B. Mac and Bun B absolutely kill this one with their silk-smooth verses, while Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men wraps it all up with his soothing hook. 2012 officially drops May 22, but you can pre-order it here.

Rap: We Ain’t Them – Childish Gambino

Posted in Hip-Hop/Rap with tags on May 16, 2012 by ludabeatsmusic

Today, Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino unleashed his newest single “We Ain’t Them” via his Twitter account. I want to keep this one short, so I’ll get to the point and tell you that this song is probably the most impressive song I’ve heard from CG, ever. This is one of the few times Childish Gambino really shows off his flow. He usually has a unique way of shouting most of his lyrics with a lot of underlying jokes, but this one is different in that he flows in a serious manner over a piano based beat. Check it out and download below.
